Constitution Day

Submitted by doug.lai on

On Monday, September 17th, students of Spring Lake Elementary gathered outside around the flagpole for a special program to recognize Constitution Day. Some of our six grade students wore their scout uniforms and performed a flag ceremony. As a school we then recited The Pledge of Allegiance, and sang The National Anthem. Mrs. Denise Ray spoke about the history of our constitution and what it means.  It was created 225 years ago.   Mr. Ewell mentioned that many nations have used it as guide for writing their own constitution.  Then we sang God Bless America.

Growing Cabbage

Submitted by doug.lai on

Over the summer Spring Lake Third-grade students took part in growing cabbages at home with the hopes of winning a scholarship from Bonnie Plants. They were each provided with one plant. It was amazing to see the pictures coming in from those that took care of them all summer. Someone is going to be eating a lot of coleslaw.
