On Monday, March 11th. Spring Lake students enjoyed a square dancing assembly. Right from the get go students were dancing and learning how to square dance. Students also learned about square dance traditions and the type of clothing that is worn while square dancing.  Students learned how and why square dancing came to be part of Utah’s history.  The younger grades learned simple steps while the older grades did the full dancing.  Students commented how fun it was.  They want to do it again next year.

BYU Bean Museum Visits Kindergarten Students

Submitted by doug.lai on

On Wednesday April 17th the Kindergartners at Spring Lake Elementary had a special treat. The Bean Museum from BYU came to teach them about reptiles. The students learned about the different types of reptiles and how they are different from humans. Josh, the presenter, brought a tortoise named “Otis”, an iguana named “PJ” and a snake. Each student had the opportunity to pet the snake. It was a great learning experience and lots of fun too!
