Fifth-grade Visits Senior Citizens

Submitted by doug.lai on

Fifth Grade students from Spring Lake Elementary put their last day before Christmas Break to great use. The classes had prepared a few Christmas carols and went to the Payson Senior Center to share their songs with Payson Senior Citizens. The audience was very receptive and appreciative of the music performed. Some even hopped up and rocked out along with the students as they sang "Jingle Bell Rock". It was a comfortable and cheery atmosphere, and both students and seniors enjoyed the interaction with one another.

Fifth Grade Students Perform "A Christmas Carol"

Submitted by doug.lai on

This fledgling group of fifth grade actors got an addictive taste of stage performance as they shared their adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" with family and fellow students. Written by Nebo District's Drama Specialist, Lisa Bean, this version of the beloved tale was perfect for providing the students with a memorable and meaningful Christmas experience while they learned elements of the Drama curriculum. In reflection, students were surprised by their drive to make this a worthwhile presentation.
