Students had a fun afternoon playing some relay games. They did potato sack races, and did a relay where they had to put on shorts, long sleeve shirt, hat, scarf, and gloves.
Third-grade students had fun bowling at South County Lanes as part of their field trip. It was neat to see the kids all have fun, and see what kind of skills they had. There were even several who broke 100. Watch out they may go professional!
Sixth-grade students tried hard to defeat the teachers in the annual kickball game, but alas it did not happen.
Upper-grade students enjoyed a fun field day at the Payson City Pool. Students floated in the lazy river, slid down slides, and jumped off the diving board. It was a great way to finish out the year.
Third-grade held its annual spelling bee. Each class held individual class bees where three winners were chosen. These winners then competed in the grade level spelling bee. The class winners that competed were Michael Kitchen, Caitlyn Maloy, Jake Wilson, Aubrey Grant, Boyd Martin, Brandon Judd, Madison Bassir, David Bartholomew, Jaxon Hill, Kylee Keisel, Nathan Slater, and Kaden Liddiard.
Madison Bassir took first place, Brandon Judd took second, and David Bartholomew was third over all. Well done!
First-grade students sang about their favorite neighborhood helpers. There were plumbers, chefs, and even the garbage truck!
Students had fun watching the Second-grade Patriotic play. The second graders put in a lot of hard work memorizing lines and songs. They are all ready for fifth-grade, since they can name all 50 states.
The sixth-grade Hershey track meet was a success! Spring Lake students did very well and represented the school well. The students not only came away with many places but most importantly they came away with great memories.
Spring Lake sixth-graders graduated from the much loved N.O.V.A. program on May 8th. Since January, students have been treated to an engaging hour with Officer Hurst every Friday. They learned how to be exemplary citizens and to self govern themselves.
