The Kindergarten students at Spring Lake have been learning about the life cycle of a chicken.  The students were able to see this life cycle happen right in their very own classrooms as they hatched baby chicks.

This summer, Jr. High school students are invited to attend a fun 2-day workshop learning to code using Code.org’s App Lab and BBC’s microbit. Students will use App Lab to create apps that can be published and shared to run on any computer, tablet, or smartphone with a modern browser.

The BBC's microbit is a small hardware processing device (about 1/2 the size of a credit card). Projects will include: LED message display, thermometer, compass, connection to external LEDs, composing music, etc.

Thanks everyone for bringing in change and donations for the penny war. Mrs. Poulsen's class took a giant leap forward to first-place. As a school, we raised $2,500 for the Evans family to help cover medical expenses associated with a premature baby. Once again Thank You!

It Pays To Read

Submitted by doug.lai on Mon, 04/17/2017 - 21:11

Students turned in slips for each night they read 30 minutes. Monday April 17th was the day it all paid off. Students who's names were drawn had the choice to either pick a prize or shoot hoops for money. Two lucky students went home with a new bike Hallee Christensen and Lizzy Benson. Congrats to all, and remember it pays to read.

Monday April 17th-Friday April 21st Spring Lake students will be doing Penny wars to help Mrs. Evans and her family.

Pennies and bills will give postive points for your class. Silver coins you will want to put in other classes, as they count as negative points.
