Fractured Fairytales
Mrs. Jarvis' class has been working hard on their Fractured Fairytale Reader's Theaters.
The Butterfly Effect
The "Butterfly Effect" is a scientific theory which asserts that very small events can cause a chain reaction which can lead to hugely significant events. Students in Mr. Ewell's 5th grade class performed "The Butterfly Effect", a short play written by Lisa Bean, to friends and family on May 18th. The students had worked hard to prepare and perform and were able to share the message of the play in a well developed and thought provoking production.
Multiplication Party
Mr. Lai's class had an ice cream party to celebrate learning timestables. The whole class passed off 1-10s, so as promised Mr. Lai shaved his head.
A Hiking We Will Go
It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon for a hike. The weather was comfortably cool, slightly cloudy, and finally Friday! The Fifth Grades hiked up to the Water Mine up Picayune Canyon above Spring Lake. It was about four miles round trip. It was a nice way to get some exercise and enjoy the company of friends. The students enjoyed a hot dog right off the grill as they headed for home.
Pet Rocks
Mrs. Ware's first grade classes celebrated their last week of homework with a Pet Rock Adventure!
The Gods Must Be Crazy
Mrs. Fodiani's Class put on a great play about The Story of Cupid and Psyche.
Mountain Man Rendezvous
Today we had our annual Mountain Man Rendezvous. Kids were in the Army crawling under obstacle courses quick drawing cans down with marshmallows and throwing sabers for distance. We hold the Mountain Man Rendezvous to celebrate the peoples of Utah. We had games that the Pioneers played who played field hockey in honor of the lacrosse games of the Indians. The kids even come away with some crafts. All in all, it's a great day that teaches the kids a small part of our wonderful Utah history.
Market Day
Second-grade students had a blast today during their market sale! The last few weeks we have learned about the economy and how people have to produce goods and other people have to buy them as the consumer. Students used their "cool cash" from the school year to buy each other's goods from their stores. It was a fun-filled afternoon for everyone!
Breakout EDU
Mr. Lai's class had fun trying to solve problems in order to give them combinations for different locks. They had 45 minutes to find out where Chester went. Some were able to do it in time, others did not.
