Classified Employee Of The Year

Submitted by doug.lai on

Krstie Ore was this year's Classified Employee of the Year. She comes to school long before anyone else in the school. Not only does she make all of the lunches for Spring Lake, but for three other schools as well. She works hard in the summer cleaning classrooms. There is not a better recipient. Thanks Craig Harvey and Horace Mann for the award.

Honor Roll

Twenty Spring Lake sixth-graders received the honor roll award in an awards assembly in front of parents, fellow sixth-graders, and fifth-graders. The honor roll award is given to students who complete ten large out-of-class assignments such as service activities, research projects, essays, etc. The students complete these assignments on their own without prodding and pushing from the teachers. We are so proud of these students for their hard work.

Fifth-grade students took students through history to meet famous people. They worked hard memorizing lines and learning facts about their person. Great job!

Rockets

With the help of Mr. Hanosek, students in Mrs. Poulsen's and Mrs. Crook's sixth-grade classes were able to make and launch paper rockets. They changed the angles and pressure of their launches to see who could get their rockets to travel the farthest. After much experimentation, it all ended with a sweet launch of a candy filled rocket for the students to enjoy.

The Second-grade put on an excellent performance of their annual Patriotic Program.  The program included several well known patriotic favorites as well as the second-grade students teaching about the United States of America.
