Best Month Ever!

December was such an awesome month for me.  I loved the excitement of the children, the kindnesses shown by so many, and the fun events that showcased the diverse talent of our students. I am proud to be a Spring Lake Hawk!

Singing Around The Christmas Tree

Submitted by doug.lai on

Students began the last day of school for the year by singing in the gym. Mrs. Poulsen's class started off by performing Christmas songs and playing 'cups'. In between songs Mrs. Cladwell's class told Christmas Jokes. The teachers finished up the singing by their version of the 12 Days of Christmas and what students say and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".

A Touching Christmas Miracle

Our school had a young man, about the age of 18 to 20 years old, come into the school. He said that he was a student here many years ago. His parents struggled and owed money for school lunches. The lunch workers would put a stamp on this former student's hand to let his parents know they needed to pay. However, the former student knew his parents didn't have a lot of money, so he would wash the stamp off at school before he went home. You see, he didn't want his parents to have one more thing to worry about.

Mayor Wright Visits Spring Lake

Submitted by teresa.jordan on

Mrs. Later's 6th grade class was honored to have Payson's new mayor, Bill Wright visit their classroom in December.  Mayor Wright passed out candy canes and good advice to students, encouraging them to do good things from what they are learning in their NOVA classes.  We are so grateful to our NOVA instructor, Officer Monson, and our city leaders for supporting our school!

Sixth-grade Christmas Play

Submitted by doug.lai on

Christmas would not be complete without our annual Christmas play put on by sixth-grade. Dancing, singing, great actors, and even a dinosaur. This year's show was definitely one not to miss. Thanks for all your hard work sixth-grade.

A Christmas Carol

The Christmas season would not be complete without Mr. Ewells class performing A Christmas Carol, adapted by Lisa Bean from the District. They performed for several classes on Tuesday and parents later that night.
