On September 23rd, first grade students enjoyed celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day. Their activity centers included apple tasting, graphing which color apple they liked best, making apple prints, making and eating apple trees and coloring their own Johnny Appleseed. They also sipped apple juice, heard stories and wrote about their favorite activity in their writing journals. Fun was had by all thanks to parent volunteers who sent in items and helped run classroom centers. The day ended with caramel apple pops to take home. The first graders were certainly thankful for the legacy of Johnny Appleseed!
