The fifth-grade classes at Spring Lake Elementary recently enjoyed a fantastic field trip to the State Capitol in Salt Lake City on February 5th, 2019. They enjoyed learning about the vital work that goes on at the Capitol for our state’s citizens. While there, students had an opportunity to see the state legislature in action by observing in both the senate and house galleries. Both Senator Henderson and Representative Marc Roberts took time to meet with students, share their experiences and answer questions about serving in the Legislature. During lunch they got to see a Lion Dance performed by a local school for Chinese New Year.  The day ended with the students being given a private tour of the building. This field trip served as a wonderful culmination for their Constitution unit.
