It's a Mystery!

Submitted by denise.taylor on

The first grade can really get exciting! All of them are doing something called Mystery Readers. One of the first graders' parents or guardian comes and reads a book but the catch is none of them know whose parent it is. They all have to make an educated decision on  whose parent it is. All of the pictures shown here are pictures of this special event taking place in Mrs. Taylor's first grade class. The first grade is getting smarter and smarter every day.

Fun Fourth Grade Activities

Submitted by denise.taylor on

Ms. Sedano's 4th grade class has been doing many fun activities.  One of their favorite activities is being buddies with Mrs. Taylor's 1st grade class.  Last week they used poppets to help the first graders sound out words.  Did you know that you could make a homemade kazoo?  That's something else this 4th grade class did.  Ms.Sedano says that her class loved to see a battery power a lightbulb.  The class also saw a video about how a popcorn machine makes popcorn! Mrs. Topham's fifth grade class did an experiment with water representing the effects of flash floods on buildings and structures. This is a picture of the class with their houses representing structures.  Then they poured water to see if their structures would hold against a flash flood.  They are all learning about weathering and erosion.
