Teachers had fun tricking students. There were unsolvable wordsearches, brown 'E's, and a couple of quarters glued to the ground.
Fifth-grade students had the wonderful opportunity to visit with their local representatives in the Utah Legislature. They shared with students about how bills become law. There are many steps. They reminded students that it is "We the People" who can make a difference and that they are never too young to start getting involved in politics. It was a student that helped get a K9 dog in Payson. They answered many student questions. Thank you for taking the time to visit.
Third-grade students made cereal boxes to go along with a book they have been reading this term. They included important events in the story, information about the book, and even had a game on the back. There are so many good choices when it comes to these cereal boxes. Well done third-grade.
Every year at Spring Lake, we like to participate in a fundraiser for charity. In the past, we have done Val-o-grams and donated the money to the Kids Cause organization.
This year, we are going to raise money for a deserving family from our very own school community! We are calling our charitable fundraiser, "Silver for Sophie". We want to thank Mrs.Davis, one of our awesome Kindergarten teachers, for coming up with the idea and helping to organize this fundraiser to benefit a deserving family.
Fourth-grade students have been learning about the three biomes found in Utah. The Living Planet Aquarium came to our school and presented information about these biomes and animals that can be found in each place.
This is Mr. Ewell’s 5th grade class (AKA the Tigers) and we made Elephant Toothpaste. First we got into all of our little groups then we added all the ingredients a little bit of this and little bit of that. Then we went outside, added the last ingredient and stepped away. The Tigers looked in awe and the toothpaste oozed like foam. There were even a couple of excited shouts. Then of course we cleaned up our mess and washed up.
Kindergarten enjoyed St. Patrick's Day by making Leprechaun disguises. Top of the morning to you!
