Payson City gave our sixth grade classes the opportunity to name a park in our school boundaries here in Payson. The four other elementary schools in the city were given different land areas to name also. The park the students named is located at roughly 500 West 1450 South. After learning about historical and geographical information of the city and the park, the students and teachers proposed names and voted. The name that was chosen was HIDDEN COVE PARK because of its secluded and quiet setting. At a Payson City Council meeting held on April 20, a few of the student council members presented the proposed name to the city council. These students were Ashlyn Durfee, McKenna Holt, and Addy Passey. The city council unanimously voted to accept the name, and a stone monument will soon be placed at the park with the new name on it. This was a great honor for the sixth graders to be a part of history in Payson.  Thank you to Payson City for allowing them to participate in this event.
