Submitted by doug.lai on

From October 29th-November 2nd students at Spring Lake Elementary are celebrating Red Ribbon Week promoting a drug free and violence free lifestyle. Students made banners to hang in the school, as well as signed ribbons which were tied to the playground fence pledging to be drug free. Monday was celebrated with crazy sock day, Tuesday wear red or purple, Wednesday students wore their Halloween costumes, Thursday crazy hat or hair, and Friday students wore pajamas. Thanks to the PTA and other who made this a fun week.

Third-grade Book Reports

Submitted by doug.lai on

Third-grade students have brought in some orange looking friends. This term’s activity was to decorate a pumpkin that looks like a character in a book they were reading at home. We had a great response from students. You can really tell which character some of them did, and which book they read. Students had fun sharing book summaries, and describing their character. Well done third-grade students.

Spring Lake Elementary Playground Get Repainted

Submitted by doug.lai on

Blake Olsen, with the help of his family and friends from Troop 1607, completed his Eagle Scout project by adding a 100's grid and an additional four square game to Spring Lake Elementary's playground. They also repainted the U.S. map with bright colors and repainted the basketball courts, four squares, and hopscotch lines. Spring Lake teachers and families are very grateful to Blake and troop 1607 for all of their hard work in creating a playground that students want to play on.
