6th Grade learns about Egypt
6th grade had a culminating activity to their Egyptian unit. Students in each class led a funeral procession with their sarcophagi around the school, where they mourned their dead. It was quite a noisy event!

On Friday September 16th. Spring Lake Elementary had it’s second annual Carnival. Despite being rainy and having it indoors it was a great success. Thanks to the PTA and all the parents, teachers, and students who volunteered and participated. There was pizza, nachos, cotton candy, and popcorn. As well as several bounce houses, face painting, and games. Students won lots of prizes and enjoyed being able to get teachers wet at the fun flush.
On Friday, September16th, students of Spring Lake Elementary gathered outside around the flag pole for a special program to recognize Constitution Day. We had a flag ceremony performed by scouts in our sixth grade. As a school, we repeated The Pledge of Allegiance and sang two Patriotic Songs. As a school, we also recited The Preamble to the Constitution. Students who memorized The Preamble were able to pass it off to our student council and earn a treat at lunch recess. Classes also did other activities to emphasizing the importance of the U.S.
