Honor Roll

Submitted by doug.lai on

On May 19, twenty-three Spring Lake sixth graders received the honor roll award in an awards assembly in front of parents, fellow sixth graders, and fifth graders. The honor roll award is given to students who complete ten large out-of-class assignments such as service activities, research projects, essays, etc. The students complete these assignments on their own without prodding and pushing from the teachers. We are so proud of these students for their hard work.

It was time for the annual kickball game. Teachers vs. sixth-grade. Once again teachers proved their skills. One student asked if the teachers get together to practice.

Fifth-grade students took students through history to meet famous people. They worked hard memorizing lines and learning facts about their person. Great job!

Students in Library have had fun doing chin puppets. They either recited a poem, sang  a song, or told a nursery rhyme.

Orchestra Concert

Submitted by doug.lai on

Sixth-grade students in orchestra put on a great performance for students Thursday, May 19th. Mr. Daybell commented about how amazing it is that they come this far in just a year's time. They encored playing Pirates of the Carribean, arrange by Emily Fringer their teacher. They will do great in Jr. High. Hopefully, there are a lot of excited fifth-grade students looking forward to next year.

NOVA Graduation

On May 17, 90 sixth-graders from Spring Lake Elementary graduated from the Payson Police Department NOVA program. The students were taught weekly by a Payson police Officer Hurst, from January until May. They learned many skills to help them in their future lives to be productive, happy, and successful individuals.  They learned about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, media, bullying, and other harmful actions.  They also learned about responsibility and accountability.  The students left with a drive to be a better person and make better life choices.
