Mr. Lai's class went down to help Mrs. Taylor's class with their animal reports doing research on the computers.
Mrs. Pennick and Mrs. Poulsen's class had their hot chocolate party that they earned from students entering the Hawk drawing before Christmas break. What a great treat on a cold afternoon.
Mrs. Fordiani’s 6th grade class created castles as part of their Medieval Unit. Each castle includes a moat, bailey, keep, battlements, arrow loops, gatehouse, portcullis, drawbridge, towers, and curtain walls. Their castles turned out great!
In November, our third grade classes had a visit from Michael Brooks, of Bobby Lawrence Karate. Mr. Brooks worked with the students to build confidence and know how to fend off a bully. Students practiced defensive dialogue, and even learned a karate kick and hit only to be used when absolutely necessary, as self-defense. It was a great experience. Students were shocked to learn that Mrs. Cofie could break a board.
Nebo School District will be hosting a series of Parent Awareness Nights. The topics of discussion will include mental health and safety planning with youth. Several community service providers will be present to answer question and help individuals to access services. See the event flyer for more information.
Our "Learning Through Robotics" winter classes will begin next week on January 30th and run every Tuesday for the next 9 weeks. Class is held from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. Students who attend the class will need to make arrangements for transportation home afterward.
We have two sessions available for students. Our younger grade class (Simple Machines and Robotics Basics) is full but our upper grade class (Robotics Mindstorm) still has a few spots available. Please contact the front office today to secure your spot!
