Spring Lake’s third-grade classes participated in a community art project for Unified Utah for blind and low vision. The project is intended to bring awareness to the needs of blind and low vision community members. We made tactile leaves with a variety of craft and found objects. These leaves were combined with leaves from children throughout Utah. They were used to make this tactile tree sculpture that was displayed at The State Capitol on January 30, 2020.
The second-grade classes had the opportunity to have US Synthetic Education Engineers come and spend some time in our classes learning about problem solving and teamwork. The classes had a great time learning how to solve real-life problems through stories and movie clips. Then we got to put it into action by having a tower building competition. It was a great morning learning and growing as students, teams, and classes.
Today was our Teddy Bear Picnic in Kindergarten. We did Bear math, Bear art and had a Bear snack too!
