Shaving Foam Painting

Our theme for this project was “Fish”. Students started by tracing a fish on their papers. Detail and color were added to their fish using a shaving cream mixture and coloring. The mixture was put on their fish and left to dry.
Students cut out their fish in the next art class and glued it to their black paper.

Weeks earlier, the students finger painted papers in all different sea colors, which were later used for the background of their pictures. Students were not allowed to cut the painted seaweed or sand with scissors, but used a technique called tearing.
