You Can't Retire From Being Great!

Submitted by denise.taylor on Mon, 12/20/2021 - 21:17

It is with sincere gratitude and appreciation (and a fair amount of sadness) that we announce the retirement of our amazing custodian, Mr. Probst.  A farewell assembly was held in his honor at Spring Lake Elementary.  Mr. Probst has been the heart and hands of our school for the past 18+ years and he will be sorely missed.

Special Guests Visit 1st Grade

Submitted by denise.taylor on Mon, 12/20/2021 - 20:55

We had some special visitors today, Steton Richard's mom, Danielle Richards, and Stetson's  grandma, April Christiansen.

They read us a story about the smells of Christmas. With each new smell, we got a special gift. We smelled apples, pine trees, gingerbread cookies, hot cocoa, candy canes and oranges. We had a wonderful surprise at the end of the book when Santa Claus bounded in with a sack and a lot of good cheer! The first grade students sang " We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and Santa and his helpers loved it!  Thank you, Danielle, April and Santa!

Secret Service Elves at Spring Lake

Submitted by denise.taylor on Thu, 12/16/2021 - 20:21

This year first grade has been busy being "secret service elves".  They were given the assignment of doing secret service for others and then coloring an elf to show all the service they'd done.  Donations were made to the Utah Food Bank and a Boy's Home thanks to these secret elves.

Morse Code and Coco

Submitted by denise.taylor on Thu, 12/16/2021 - 08:48

Spring Lake 4th graders taught their 1st grade buddies how to spell their name in Morse Code using noodles and beads.  Then they treated them to hot coco.  It was tons of fun!
