Birds Filling The Walls With Color

Submitted by doug.lai on

These colorful birds began with a simple drawing, then magazine pages were cut into triangles and layered to complete their birds.

The students realized how quickly the bird came alive after layering it. Their drawings went from a 2D image to a 3D finished project. Each bird is different and unique, just like in nature.

 Nice job to all!

Submitted by doug.lai on

Students took a favorite character and made it come alive, through sculpture. Students worked in groups in the planning of their project.

Wire and newspaper supplied their creations. Paper Mache’ was added to harden the sculpture, and lastly the final coats of tissue paper, fabric, and any other material possible were used to finish these sculptures.

What's Hatching In Kindergarten

Submitted by doug.lai on

Look what's hatching in Kindergarten at Spring Lake Elementary! We have kicked off our farm unit with some adorable baby chicks. We projected the chicks up on our white boards using our document cameras. Each class was able to see chicks hatch out of their eggs.  What a fun filled time in Kindergarten!
