Spring Lake Elementary Honors Debbie Dockstader

Pictured is Craig Harvey from Horace Mann Insurance who came to present an award for outstanding classified employee. Faculty voted on who thought really makes a difference at the school. Debbie is always willing to help out in any way possible. She puts in long hours to see that the school runs smoothly and that everyone who enters feels welcome. She has served as the secretary for 5 years.

6th Grade Orchestra

The sixth grade orchestra conducted by Mrs. Emily Fringer played songs for students during the character ed assemblies. They have been practicing three times a week for half of the year. They have learned a lot in a short time and sounded great. “We hope it will be twice as big next year!” said Mr. Sainsbury, the school principal.

March Madness

Students learned that reading really does pay. In conjunction with March Madness students were drawn out to win cash by shooting baskets. They could enlist teachers or friends to help shoot. Congratulations to those that were chosen.

Net Smartz Visits Spring Lake Elementary

Students learned how to be safe on the internet. Never give out personal information, don’t meet anyone in person that you met on the internet. Tell a parent if something makes you uncomfortable. Don’t open emails from people you do not know. Don’t be a cyber bully and don’t use the computer all day.

Spring Lake Elementary Announces Two Bike Winners

Spring Lake Elementary students have been reading towards their goal of 2.6 million minutes. For five nights of reading students get to put a ticket in the drawing. For a complete week of reading they get to put in two. Two winners were chosen in April, they were Cash Muir and Brendon Earl. Congratulations and remember to continue reading. Two more bikes will be given out at the end of the year!
