BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble

Submitted by celeste.penick on

Spring Lake was treated to a performance by the International Folk Dance Ensemble from BYU.  These amazingingly talented dancers presented a concert program of dances from more than a dozen nations, including Ukraine, Russia, Korea, Poland, Mexico, and the United States.  Each dance featured beautiful ethnic costumes and a brief history of the dance style of each nation.  The students and faculty were blown away at this performance.  Spring Lake may even have some future dancers who were inspired by this performance.

Spring Lake School Spirit

Submitted by celeste.penick on

The students and faculty at Spring Lake have school spirit.  Each Friday Spring Lake demonstrates their school spirit by wearing school colors, shouting out the school cheer, and singing the school song.   To further encourage school spirit the PTA even provided donuts throughout the year to the classes who were consistent in showing Spring Lake pride.  Thank you PTA for adding a little more school spirit to Spring Lake Elementary.

The bean museum outreach program came and visited the kindergarten classes. Heather , a BYU student brought some live animals for us to look at. She brought a taranchula, a frog, and a snake. She taught us about animal differences. The highlight of the day was being able to “pet” the snake.
