On Monday, September 17th, students of Spring Lake Elementary gathered outside around the flagpole for a special program to recognize Constitution Day. Some of our six grade students wore their scout uniforms and performed a flag ceremony. As a school we then recited The Pledge of Allegiance, and sang The National Anthem. Mrs. Denise Ray spoke about the history of our constitution and what it means.  It was created 225 years ago.   Mr. Ewell mentioned that many nations have used it as guide for writing their own constitution.  Then we sang God Bless America. May we always be thankful for our country and give thanks for the Constitution. As well as honor those that have defended our country for the freedoms that are declared through the Constitution.
