Third-grade Field Trip

Submitted by doug.lai on

On October 7th third-grade students got to go to Thankgiving Point's Museum of Natural Curiosity thanks to an iSEE Scholarship from Thanksgiving Point and other business. Students got to learn about our five senses, and how they help us make sense of the world around us. Students had a great time learning, and exploring the museum. Thanks to all the parents who helped chaperone.

Red Ribbon

Student's tied ribbons to the fence to pledge to stay drug free. It is never too young to talk to children about staying healthy and drug free.

Just Jumpin'

As Part of out Red Ribbon Week we had a visit from Just Jumpin'. Just Jumpin’ is sponsored by the Intermountain Healthcare LiVe Well program which is established to help promote people to live the healthiest lives possible. It doesn't matter how you move, you just need to be active. It was amazing to see all of the neat tricks and possibilities jump roping. At the end of the assembly, several students and teachers also got involved. So parents if a jump rope is now on your child's Christmas list, you know why. Remember to stay active.

Spring Lake had a real fun assembly Tuesday October 11th. Four opera singers came and performed a short opera about the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. They were joined by several students who sang in the chorus, did make-up, stage crew, and even helped perform. Thanks Utah Arts for a great assembly.

Rounding

Submitted by doug.lai on

Mr. Lai's class has been learning about rounding using balloons. When you hold the balloon and let go with 1, 2, 3, or 4 fingers nothing happens. But if you let go with 5 or more than the balloon goes up, just like numbers when rounding. Hopefully a fun and memorable way for kids to remember what to do when rounding.

Second-Grade Olympics

Submitted by doug.lai on

Spring Lake second-grade classes participated in a week of Olympic events to build strong classes and work on team work. We did a hula hoop race, a tablespoon water race, a missing shoe race, and an obstacle course. The students had a blast and worked hard to cheer on their classmates and enjoyed learning about the world Olympics.
