Orchestra

Wednesday, December 14th, the sixth-grade orchestra performed for the student body during the day and that night performed for the Nebo School Board.  They did a great job! The next night they held a Christmas concert for their parents.

Mrs. Emily Fringer has been working with students two and three times a week since the beginning of school.  In our first year, we had twelve students participate in orchestra.  This year we have doubled to twenty-four students.  We are excited for the Spring Lake Orchestra program.

A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens was put on using Bon Ra Ku Puppets, on Friday, December 9th, 2011.

Bon Ra Ku originated in Japan. Puppets and Puppeteers are right on stage and in sight of the audience. The puppets are operated by two or more people, and sticks are used to move the head, arms, and feet. Puppeteers are usually dressed in black and hooded, which aids in blending into the background.

The students were mesmerized and entertained as many of their fellow students participated in the magic show and received free books. With his magical powers Paul motivated students to go home and read all they can to help their school reach their reading goal of over 2 million minutes!
