Students learned that there are magnetic things all around us, including the ink used to print money, and in some cases the food we eat. Total cereal has iron in it which can be pulled in water with a magnet. Students had a great time learning, and exploring the museum. Thanks to all the parents who helped chaperone.

Who Wants to be an Opera Star?

Who wants to be an opera star?  The students at Spring Lake were introduced to the art form of opera in a fun filled display of talent from Utah Opera.  Utah Opera taught the students about voice types, arias, duets, trios, and quartets using the framework of a television game show.  The students experienced the elements of opera as Utah Opera Artists performed selections of well-known operas.  Spring Lake students were enthusiastic in using their newly learned vocabulary word (BRAVO!)  to express a job well done to the Utah Opera Artists.

On November 11th, 2014, Mrs. Denise Ray’s fourth-grade taught the school about the importance of Veteran’s Day. They explained that Veterans are anyone who has served our country in the Armed Forces. It was a great assembly because we were able to honor many Veterans from our community who have served or are still serving our country. The students also made two banners honoring two of our bus drivers who were also Veterans.
