If you were to have a planet, what would you call it? What would it look like? Students at Spring Lake Elementary were able to create their own planets through finger painting. They would use their pictures to create their own planet and neighboring planets.
After designing their land mass and neighboring planets they learned how to make a dome (their city). Shading was also added to make their planets look 3D. It was a really cool outer space look.

The fifth-grade classes at Spring Lake Elementary recently enjoyed a fantastic field trip to the State Capitol in Salt Lake City on February 13, 2014. The students were able to view the beautifully renovated capitol building and were awed by its architecture and grandeur. They enjoyed learning about the symbolism in the decor and about the seismic upgrades which make the capitol much safer. While there, students had an opportunity to see the state legislature in action by observing in both the senate and house galleries.
